Speech & Language Services
Program Details (Back to Programs)

Our Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works with clients and their families to improve communication skills. Our SLP provides services for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, adolescents, adults and seniors with any of the following:

  • Speech difficulties (speech sound development, phonological delays, motor speech difficulties)

  • Language difficulties (early language development, understanding language, following directions, expressing ideas/constructing sentences)

  • Cognitive-linguistic difficulties (thinking, attention, organization, sequencing)

  • Voice and resonance difficulties (hoarse/breathy voice, pitch, loss of voice or reduced volume, post-laryngectomy)

  • Feeding and swallowing difficulties (swallowing liquids and solids, chewing, coughing, choking, excessively slow eating causing weight loss, frequent or recurrent pneumonia)

Any of the above issues could be related to a developmental issue, or due to a traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, or degenerative disease. We know that early intervention can make all the difference.

Clients are seen for assessment and based on the findings a treatment plan is developed by the family, client and SLP on a weekly or bi-weekly treatment schedule. Our SLP services can also complement services clients are receiving in the school, daycare or day hospital setting.
